“On behalf of Kisoro District…I take this singular honor to appreciate you very much for the support you are rendering to Marginalised People.”
- Alex Nambajimana Vice Chairman Kisoro District 7/13/2024

After recently sending the positive news that the tribe is building their homes in Cyanika, the Vice Chairman of Kisoro District, Uganda replied with these words. With government vowing to shoot the Batwa if they ever return to the forest, and processing evictions where they are currently squatting on government land in Kisoro, I didn't know what to expect. But having gained a reprieve from the eviction on my last trip to Uganda, I was hopeful. This message has lightened the load a bit. It gives me a moment to reflect on our good fortune. The Village Plan is coming to life, and those who could make Batwa life further perilous are seeing our progress, and supportive. Thank you to each of our supporters. We are doing the right thing, the best way, and with good results. Thank you!
